The sky is going to fall and you should know it. One of the classic Cuban children’s stories tells of a chick named Pito who, one day, when he was walking in the woods, a plum fell on his head. And he said to himself very scared: “The sky is going to fall and the king must know it. I’m going to hurry to break the news.”

Walk that walks you met Gallina Fina, who asked him. “Good morning, Pollito Pito. Where are you going so early?”

“The sky is going to fall and the king must know it. I’m going to hurry to give you the news”, he replied.

“Well, I’m also going to tell the king.”

And there were the two, Gallina Fina and Pollito Pito, walk that walks you met with Gallo Malayo. Who asked: “Good morning Gallina Fina and Pollito Pito. Where do they go so early?”

“The sky is going to fall and the king must know it. Let’s hurry to break the news.”

“Well, I’m also going to tell the king”, said Gallo Malayo.

And there were the three … In the original story, many animals are added, each with its name. And in the end, the list is tremendous. Pavo Centavo, Chickpea Goose, Shoe Duck, Malayan Rooster, Fine Chicken, Polito Pito, who meet the bad guy, who was the Cachorra Fox, who, proposing a shorter path, tries to divert them from their efforts and so take them to their cave. But the birds discover their trick, they fly away, they arrive at the palace and they break the news to the king.

Listen, beloved king, the sky has cracked. Send it to compose because it is going to fall”. So the king thanked them very kindly and gave each of them a brand new gold coin. This story is over.

The objective of this children’s story really was for the children to memorize the names of animals. And at the same time, they knew the importance of doing good and understood that every good project has a fox who tries to deviate you from the path. But also, it is the first story where a weather forecast is alluded to. The strong wind that precedes the rain, knocks down a plum. And this observation must be communicated so that it does not take anyone by surprise.

That is what we intend to do. The 2020 hurricane season is here. It will only end on November 30. Hurricanes and storms, in addition to destructive winds, bring associated heavy rains and high tides that flood all our coasts.
